2020 Lott Memorial Scholarship Receipent, Waylon Washington, Graduates!

NATCHITOCHES – We are proud to announce that the 2020 recipient of the Luther Lott, Sr. Memorial Scholarship, Waylon Washington, has graduated from Northwestern State University! It is a four-year scholarship established by the Lott family for a full-time Northwestern State University student who is the dependent of a Lott Oil employee.  His father, Martin Washington, is valued employee of Lott Oil’s Natchitoches facility.

Waylon received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in Social Sciences. He completed his college career with a 3.0 GPA! While attending NSU, he was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, NABJ, NAACP, and the NSU Demon Football Team. In Fall of 2023, he was honored as a member of the Homecoming Court! His plan after graduation is to become a Creative/Video Director for sports media at the college or the professional level.

We’re excited to see Waylon thrive in his future endeavors and thankful for the opportunity to partner with the Northwestern State University Alumni Association and Foundation!
