With a background working for Cities Service Gas Company in the early 1960s, Luther Lott, Sr. moved his family to Natchitoches, Louisiana, to launch Lott Oil Company. As a small distributor with a single truck and two employees, Lott Oil Company quickly built its reputation as an honest, family-owned fuel and lubricant provider. Luther’s son, Luther W. “Buddy” Lott, Jr., started as a driver for the company while still in high school and stepped in as president in 1979.

The company continued to expand under Buddy’s leadership, becoming one of the largest energy distributors in Louisiana, with Lott Oil serving industrial, commercial, retail, and wholesale businesses and with Shop A Lott becoming the hub for convenience stores and truck stops. Throughout the company’s growth, our dedication to customer service and family values never wavered.

Industry Leadership

Lott Oil Company established itself as a regional leader in the petroleum and oil industry. Lott Oil’s CEO Luther “Buddy” Lott, Jr., served on the Louisiana Oil Marketer’s and Convenience Store Operator’s Association for years, including a term as its president. He previously served on the Chevron Texaco National Distributor Advisory Council and also the Mobil™ Distributor Advisory Board.
