Shop A Lott Named Official Tailgate Provider of NSU Athletics

By: Jason Pugh, Assistant AD for Media Relations

NATCHITOCHES — The Northwestern State Athletic Department announced Friday it has expanded its long-running partnership with Shop-A-Lott Stores, making the locally owned convenience store the department’s Official Tailgate Provider.

As part of their sponsorship agreement, Lott Oil will distribute Chevron gift cards at every Northwestern State home football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball and softball game in the 2020-21 academic year, beginning with Sunday’s men’s game against ULM.

Demon fans will have the opportunity to win those gift cards by checking in on the Northwestern State Athletics Mobile App during each game and participating in what the partners have named as the “Shop-A-Lott Shuffle.”

Lott Oil/Shop-A-Lott will also be the presenting sponsor for one game for each of the five sports mentioned above. During those games, they will give away free T-shirts to NSU fans as well as some additional giveaways to be provided to fans who pick up their tailgate supplies at the newest Shop-A-Lott location at 620 South Drive.

The gift cards will be redeemable at the South Drive Shop-A-Lott location in Natchitoches. Shop-A-Lott also operates stores in Many, Mansfield, Coushatta, Robeline, Alexandria and Leesville, providing gasoline as well as ready-to-eat foods, snacks and drinks.

“We are so appreciative to the Lott Oil team for providing such great incentives for fans to attend our games, earn some prizes and have some fun while doing it,” said Deputy Athletic Director Dr. Haley Taitano. “This partnership is a win-win for NSU and Lott Oil, because it will help us get more people using our mobile app, which has become an even greater priority during this pandemic, and it will help drive fans to the Shop-A-Lott stores, which have always been so supportive of NSU Athletics.”

The Northwestern State Athletic Department is encouraging fans to download its mobile app in advance of this season’s athletic contests, as rosters, schedule updates, game tickets, and all in-game and post-game content will be accessible through the app. Visit the Apple or Android store and search “Northwestern State Athletics” to download the free app before Sunday’s men’s basketball tip-off vs. ULM.
